Introducing the Digital Assistant Discovery Sprint

Originally developed by Google Ventures as a way to quickly solve problems, a design sprint is a 5 phase process with each phase lasting a day. At labworks we've adapted this approach for exploring how businesses can best harness Large Language Model powered Digital Assistants to tackle new use cases and improve existing processes.

During the Digital Assistant Discovery Sprint you’ll get an opportunity to build your own prototype LLM-based assistant that meets real user and business needs. By the end of the week you’ll have the skills and experience needed to go forwards with your own digital assistant projects.

Day 1: Understanding Digital Assistants and Large Language Models

On the first day we introduce the team to what digital assistants and large language models are. What they are good for and what they are not. We talk about the different tools in the market and techniques used to create products using them.

Day 2: Finding and defining a problem to be solved

On the second day we use the team's knowledge of their business to highlight problems / use cases that could be solved using a digital assistant or large language model. We then prioritise based on what can be reasonably prototyped on the following day while having the most value.

Day 3: Prototyping a solution

On the third day we prototype the digital assistant, giving the team hands-on experience in how to use the natural language tools required to build human-like bots.

Day 4: Testing with users

On the fourth day we test the prototype with potential users gaining valuable feedback on what does and doesn't work and what iterations to make next.

Day 5: Evaluating results and identifying future opportunities

On the final day we analyse the results from the testing plus the experience from the previous days to highlight opportunities and barriers to using Digital Assistants in their business and potential projects for future exploration.

The Digital Assitant Discovery Sprint can be run either for individuals or entire teams.
